ARC North West: Rural Development Programme open
ARC North West is the delivery mechanism for Axis 3 & 4 of the Northern Ireland Rural Development Programme (NIRDP) 2007-2013 which comprises the Council areas of Derry City Council, Limavady Borough Council, Omagh District Council and Strabane District Council.
The Northern Ireland Rural Development Programme 2007-2013 is part financed by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.
The Rural Development Programme (RDP) is aimed at improving the economic, social and environmental conditions in rural areas throughout Northern Ireland.
At the local level the Programme is strategically delivered by a Statutory Joint Committee representing all four Councils and implemented by a Local Action Group comprised of representatives from the business, community, agriculture, council and statutory sectors.
The Rural Development Programme (RDP) aims to improve the quality of life in rural areas by supporting a wide range of projects under the following measures:
- Measure 3.1 Diversification into Non- Agricultural Activities
- Measure 3.2 Business Creation and Development
- Measure 3.3 Encouragement of Tourism Activities
- Measure 3.4 Basic Services for the Economy and Rural Population
- Measure 3.5 Village Renewal and Development
- Measure 3.6 Conservation and Upgrading the Rural Heritage
This call for applications is for Strategic Projects where the grant requirement is > £250,000 but less than £1 million for measures 3.3, 3.4, 3.5 and 3.6 with a closing date of 12 noon on 31 July 2012.
There is also a call for applications under Measures 3.1 (Farm Diversification), 3.2 (Business Creation & Development) & 3.3 (Tourism Activities) which opened on 1 June 2012 and will close at 12 Noon on 3 August 2012.
