Arts & Disability Awards Ireland

This is a grant scheme for individual deaf or disabled artists, managed by the Arts & Disability Forum on behalf of the two Arts Councils of this island

Operating on a cross-border basis, the Arts & Disability Awards Ireland scheme is a dedicated grant system for individual disabled artists, managed by the Arts & Disability Forum on behalf of the two Arts Councils of this island. 

Through this funding, artists with disabilities have developed unique artwork of extremely high artistic quality, some progressing to a level where international recognition is won. The scheme’s purpose is to identify, encourage and nurture individual talent amongst disabled practitioners. Individuals can apply for a bursary of up to £5,000 (or Euro equivalent).

Criteria

Decisions are based on:

  • artistic excellence;
  • innovation and originality;
  • furthering the skills and level of experience of disabled artists;
  • feasibility and quality of planning – realistic and achievable aims and budget;
  • overall quality of application.

Who can apply

The scheme is open to applications from individual disabled artists or a partnership of individual disabled artists working together on one project.  You must be domiciled (permanent home) in Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland.
