Belfast CC Park Events Small grants

Belfast City Council Park Events Small Grants Scheme provides funding for local people to organise events such as a community celebration, a neighbourhood fun day or an educational activity in one of their parks or open spaces.

Grants are available to non-party political, Belfast-based organisations such as community, youth and church groups. In your application form, you must specify how your organisation or group will use the grant. 

A grant of up to £2,250 is available up until 31 October 2012 (subject to the availability of funds). 

If your grant application is successful, you will receive 50 per cent of the grant funding before the event takes place, subject to the return of a signed ‘letter of offer’ to them. You will receive the remaining balance of the grant funding only after the event takes place, subject to the return of the correct supporting documentation to us.

Groups and organisations must have a full constitution to be eligible for the Parks Events Small Grant Scheme.

Please note, if you have already been awarded a grant for an event in 2012, you are not eligible to apply for the Parks Events Small Grant Scheme.

Applications forms and guidance notes

  • Please allow four weeks for your applications to be assessed. 
  • A letter of offer will be sent to the successful groups which must be signed and returned to us before the event can take place. 
  • Applicants who receive funding must also complete a grant report form after the event or activity, so we can measure its success.

If you're applying for the Parks Events Small Grants Scheme in August, please note that your application for will not be assessed until the end of September 2012.
