Protect Life Services in the Southern Area for 2012/14

Community and Voluntary organisations are invited to apply to the Public Health Agency within the Southern Area to provide services to address Protect Life outcomes.

The Public Health Agency is now open to applications from voluntary and community organisations to provide services within the Southern area to address Protect Life outcomes.

The Southern area comprises the Council areas of Armagh, Banbridge, Craigavon, Dungannon and South Tyrone and Newry and Mourne

Organisations may apply to provide services in either one or both areas as below:

Area 1

  • Armagh
  • Dungannon
  • Clogher Valley
  • Portadown
  • Lurgan

Area 2

  • Banbridge
  • Newry
  • South Armagh
  • Kilkeel

The services will:

  • Provide outreach community development services to the population of the Southern area with a particular focus on promoting positive mental health and the prevention of suicide and self-harm.
  • Enable and support local communities within the Southern area to address the mental health and emotional wellbeing of the local population. This service will be split into two distinct geographical areas.

The services are to commence on 1st August 2012 until 31st March 2014. A maximum of £180,000 is available for the 20 month period for the provision of this service across the Southern area.
